Willy Wonka Inspired Golden Ticket Idea
To celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Edinburgh Festival Fringe 70 Golden Tickets were hidden inside the JustBe Fringe chocolate bars.
The prizes were rather spectacular: A luxurious overnight stay in the penthouse apartment at the Old Town Chambers. First Class return train tickets with Virgin East Coast. Gift vouchers for Covet, Waterstones and Wagamama. Seventy bars. Seventy chances to strike gold.
It felt very Fringe: joyful and slightly theatrical.
Double Win at the FreeFrom Skincare Awards
Around the same time, JustBe Botanicals was celebrating at the FreeFrom Skincare Awards at Olympia in London, one of the most rigorous and well-respected award programmes in the natural skincare industry.
The results were wonderful. JustBe Happy Body Butter took Silver and JustBe Soft Lip Balm earned Bronze. The feedback from the judging panel was exceptional and these two wins brought our total award count to 14 at the time.
Both products remain in the range today, still hand-blended and still award-winning. The Lip Balm in particular has gone on to accumulate further recognition since, a consistently loved product that earns its place in every range review.
JustBe Happy Body Butter As Seen on Big Brother
And then came the phone call we really didn't expect.
JustBe products were featured in that week's Champagne & Pamper reward on Channel 4's Big Brother and the JustBe Happy Body Butter was the star of the moment. Hearing the contestants rave about it as they settled into their massage was a surreal moment.
National television. Completely unscripted. A product that earned its place in the room entirely on its own merits.
Speaking at the Foodies Festival
That same summer, Gail was invited to speak at the Foodies Festival in Edinburgh, joining the zen healthy living area curated by Lululemon for a feel-good hour of inspiration.
Being part of a programme that brings together food, wellbeing and the Edinburgh summer spirit felt very much in keeping with everything JustBe stands for. It was a wonderful afternoon.
A Summer That Captured Everything JustBe Is About
Golden Tickets in chocolate bars on the Royal Mile. An award ceremony in London. A TV appearance on a national channel. A speaker slot at the Foodies Festival happening in the city we love, in the month we love most.
The summer of 2017 was, by any measure, a remarkable one for JustBe Botanicals.
