It's natural, at any point in the year, to think about how we'd like to feel more energised, more balanced and more like ourselves. But the combination of big intentions and difficult conditions: cold weather, dark mornings, the general weight of a busy life can make it hard to keep momentum.
Here are five simple, pressure-free tips to help you feel your best. Not a plan. Not a programme. Just five small practices worth returning to.
Remove temptation. If something is pulling you away from how you want to feel, make it a little harder to reach. Small environmental changes make a bigger difference than willpower alone.
Reset & start fresh every day. Each morning is a genuine opportunity to reset and refocus, regardless of what happened or didn't happen yesterday.
Prioritise how you want to feel. Let that single question guide your choices. Not what should I do? but how do I want to feel? and then make choices that point in that direction.
Seek balance. Everything in moderation, including moderation. Rest matters as much as movement. Stillness matters as much as action.
Be kind to yourself. You are doing your best. And your best is good enough.

The Story Behind JustBe
People often ask how JustBe began. Just over three years into the journey at the time of writing, the origin story was still very fresh.
By this point I had already made my own reset, leaving a corporate career to retrain in a range of holistic therapies including Holistic Massage, Bach Flower Remedies, Life Coaching, Lomi Lomi Massage and Mind Detox.
While working as a therapist at a retreat in Turkey, I noticed that what guests seemed to want most was simply to be themselves - that peaceful state where you accept yourself and others without needing to change anything. I was offering Hawaiian Lomi Lomi massage on the retreat, with its long, flowing strokes that feel like ocean waves. I was already working with coconut oil (which was quite unusual at the time), but I knew I wanted something more, something that would deepen the experience.
With the encouragement of the guests, one of whom happened to be an aromatherapist. I began thinking about creating my own aromatherapy blends. I knew that they would be called Just Be. The first four that I created were JustBe Loved, Happy, Energised and Sweet - because they reflected what most people are truly looking for: the universal emotional states that we can all benefit from, whatever we're going through.
From that kitchen table beginning, JustBe has grown into a full sensory range of products and treatments designed to engage all five senses. Of the original four blends, Happy remains the most popular. Loved and Sweet no longer exist as massage blends, but their spirit lives on: in JustBe Loved Herbal Tea and JustBe Loved Aromatherapy Chocolate.
The business began life as JustBe Oils but a legal challenge along the way led to the name JustBe Botanicals, which turned out to suit us perfectly. That's perhaps a story for another time.
